Rachel Smith is an account supervisor in the Orange County office of Schubert Flint Public Affairs. Ms. Smith handles the earned media, coalition recruitment, grassroots activities, product launches and a number of other tasks on behalf of a variety of clients.
 
With a background in media relations, Ms. Smith has served regularly as the California spokesperson for a Fortune 500 company. She has extensive experience in consumer public relations, media relations, website development, social media, grassroots/coalition building, key influencer outreach and community relations.
 
Throughout her three years at the firm, Ms. Smith has worked on a variety of issues including the automotive industry, insurance, health care, land development and several statewide ballot initiatives.
 
Ms. Smith earned her bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where she majored in Public Relations and minored in United States History.

If I weren’t a public affairs professional I’d be a… a writer, producer and host of a comedy television show.

On my first day at SFPA… there were two pregnant women on the staff and another employee who had just had a baby, which answers the looming question of why I always bring my own bottled water to work.

I enjoy working at SFPA because… after years of working here, I still get butterflies with every new project I take on. (Plus, there’s always an abundance of diet soda in the fridge)

When leaving the office for lunch, my favorite mid-town Sacramento restaurant to be seen at is… the corner table at Original Pete’s, where I can drench my pizza in ranch dressing without the hassle of onlookers.
